my dog is like a rollercoaster ride....so many ups and downs....then she'll throw me for a loop and acually be good?!! i really don't understand...the past three days...she was great!! Then this morning, she attacked my wife during a routine walk...everything was normal...i just don't get it! well when i get home i have to do damage control...and make sure my wife....(who loves the dog but holds grudges) understands that she has to let it go...and make sure my dog isn't thinking that my wife is the omega of the pack.. a pack leader's job is never done

i'm sorry....she didn't get attacked....anabell tried again to show dominance over her...by biting her leash and trying to nip at my wife....i forgot that i'm talking to people who know what they're talking about...it wasn't a red zone attack...but the way my wife made it sound...it was similar

Aaaah, pheeeeeeeeeeeew! lol
Sounds like your wife is taking it personal, and of course the dog senses that frustration. And frustration is, as every emotion, a weakness in the animal world, and the least that happens is that the dog won't take the human serious, in the worst case attacks. Really attacks.

well just thought while i had a free moment (this week has been so busy) i'd let you know how anabell was doing....well...we moved to a new class with bigger dogs....and a lot of dogs just like her...it's a tough class but fun. She did really well this week...a few problems (she ate my wife's shoe when we were in the other room)...but it was my wife's fault for leaving her shoe out...anyways...over all she's been doing much better...keep wishing us luck!!!

sorry i haven't been posting as much.....a lot of not so fun stuff has been going on and i've been pretty stressed....it's funny though....the more stressed i've been getting...the more (sorry to humanize) understanding Anabell has been getting. i know she's just picking up on my vibes but it seems she's taken it down a notch....soo she went from a Million miles an hour to only 999,999 but it's still an improvement. Any way....please continue to wish us luck!!

Talking Re: Great News!!!

GREAT NEWS!!!!!! But before i get to that....let me first apologize for not posting in a while....things at work have been busy...i'm now working 14 hour shifts at times....and the kids have been extra rammy now a days....well anyways....we had another dog training class yesterday...now Anabell is still muzzled (her last time we hope).....but for the first time she was acually able to play with other dogs.....she went into a play bow....she layed down with other dogs....it was probably the most amazing thing we have seen her do!!!! She usually gets really fearful with her muzzle...and tries to counter the fear with aggression. We've been trying new training methods with her (i.e. humanizing certain behavoirs to help us cope with them better and in turn, being much more patient with her) and they're working!!!! Next week we're trying NO muzzle....but bringing it just in case! please keep wishing us luck!!

WOW! Do you think it had something to do with the other dogs being more balanced maybe? I see it every time a new dog joins us here...they can be so screwed up, my dogs show them how it works and they chill out and that's that. It has a lot of influence.
