Default Dying Squirrel

We have a Richardson Ground squirrel, About 2 weeks ago we noticed she looked really sick. She seemed under weight, he skin seems red and a bit scabby. On her belly and back end her hair has thinned out. She has retained most of her hair though, we changed her diet thinking she wasn't getting all the nutrients that she needed. We originally ruled out Mange, however we are not so sure that its not. The change of diet seemed to help, but now she has taken a turn for the worse. She is week, barely eats if at all, at this point she can barely move. Please help if anyone knows how we can save her.

Welcome on board!

Is there any way you can post some pictures? Is she itching? Where is the hair loss the most severe? What about around the eyes? What do the eyes look like?

In what State do you live? Do you know if there have been cases of squirrel pox around? I'm not sure at all if ground squirrels can get it, I have no experience with ground squirrels at all, but I figure it can't be that different.

Thank you for your help but she died an hour ago in my hands. She never itched or anything it was a very strange illness. Everything I researched just did not match.
