Default Help me identify this MA wild animal

Hello,
I've seen this animal in my yard a couple of times now.
I want to say that it is a fisher cat or marten, but I've never seen one in this color.

Welcome on board!

Looks like you have a red fox there!

Ahhhh, I couldn't find a picture of a red fox with black socks like the one you posted. The ears on the animal in my yard didn't look like a fox either, plus, it looked a lot bigger than the other foxes I've seen in my yard.

Thanks for the picture, I'm now thinking it was probably just a fox.

A long time ago there was a family of foxes that lived very close to a country road I had to travel daily. I saw them a lot playing near their den, it was such a treat to see them. Sadly the owner of the land started doing a lot of stuff near where their den was and they moved elsewhere.

We have seen one fox in our yard. He was digging for moles, and he caught one.
We have not seen any for a while now but we heard them all the time this summer. They make the neatest sounds.
We saw two coyotes a few weeks ago at the end of our property. I have never seen them up so close. They looked so graceful.

Wow, just saw this topic.

I'm amazed at the "just a fox" statement lol

I've had the luxury of seeing a couple foxes at work for years once in awhile but have not seen them in over a year now.
