Default Giving eggs to dogs?

My boyfriend's mother says that eggs are very good for a dog's coat, and every once in a while will cook up a couple of eggs for their dog. I'm asking all the dog experts here if there is any truth to this?

Remember when I got Olivia with her 70 lbs? Every day I mixed a RAW egg into her food for protein, sometimes twice (I fed her 5 times a day the first 3 weeks).

If I gave her a raw egg without any other food she threw it back up, it's too heavy on the stomach, but mixed with the food, it was just fine. I swear that egg makes the fur shine! But I wouldn't over do it.

I don't know the scientific facts on that, but this is my personal experience .

Ooh okay! I was curious to see if it worked or not. Olivia is proof enough!

Eggs can be GREAT for dogs - however, plain eggs can throw off the calcium-phosphorus balance if fed in quantity. An egg or two every week is perfectly harmless, though, and if you can feed the shell too (not all dogs will eat it), even better.

My guys LOVE hard-boiled eggs.
