My new guy did not urinate in the house at all the first two weeks we had him. going into week three he had two acidents in his kennel, and now in week four he's peeing in the house almost daily...today twice!! please help, we're at a lose...we're starting to retrain like you would for a puppy, is that right?? or should we be doing something different?? please help, thanks!

In that case I'm thinking more of Victoria Stillwell than Cesar. She likes to put dogs with that nasty habit on a schedule like measuring the water they drink and control when they go to pee by making it a routine.

How big is the kennel? How long is he in there? Is he alone in there or with Anabell? Do you get him tired and empty before you put him in there for a longer period of time? And can you rule out physical problems such as a UTI?

Do you get the impression the dog is trying to tell you something with this behavior or that he just couldn't hold it anymore?

And how do you react when it happens? Did you ever catch him WHILE he was doing it?

the kennel no longer seems to be a problem, where thinking he was just a little sick for those two days. we took urine samples today to the vet to be tested. we'll find out tomorrow if anything physical is wrong.

behaviorly, i think he couldn't hold it anymore. he's a little guy ( only 23 lb )...and i took notice he drinks more water than i would think ( not a large amount, but just in contrast to anabell...)

we noticed a few times he would pee on the floor but barely move from his laying down position when he's doing it. i wonder if got caught and got hit prior to us so he hides it.

we figured out to take him out much more often, and reteach like you would for a puppy...lots of praise, many trips out, monitor water intake, etc...

so far it's working...we'll see what goes on when we get our results
