Default Kitten with a cold?

I have a two week old kitten that must have developed a cold. The other three kittens in the litter seem fine. The one with the cold weighs about 1/3 less than the others. He will nurse, but is inevitably knocked from the most free flowing nipple by a sibling. We tried letting mama nurse this baby alone, but she wants to gather the others back in with the sickly one. What can we do to treat this baby? My husband and I are both unemployed, so we really need an economical choice. Suggestions???

Heyas mommybritches, is there any way you can get your hands on infant amoxicillin? This is what I give my kittens when they start to show symptoms of upper respiratory infection.

Sounds like you have a typical runt there.

I went today and acquired some Amoxy drops. I have given the baby the first dose. I also got a small container of milk replacer. He seems to have trouble smelling enough to find an available spot, and when he does he gets overruled by another. I thought I would try to supplement him for a couple of days until the Amoxy has a chance to work.

I need to know how much milk replacer to mix so that I don't waste, or make too little. Roughly how many cc's will a 2 week old baby take in per feeding?

I so suck when it comes to dosages! But I know that it depends more on weight than age and also the strength of the drops matters.

I also know that you do not give the stuff with every feeding, only twice a day!

Now if you provide the information of how strong the medication is and how much the kitten weighs, I'm sure somebody here will be able to figure out the dosage for you.

I know how much medicine to give the baby. What I need to know is how much MILK a 2 week old kitten takes in per feeding. The milk replacer is in powder, and I don't want to mix more than I need at one time. Do you know how many cc's of milk a 2 week old kitten will eat per feeding?

Oh duuuh! Sorry about that. Again this goes by weight too. A kitten drinks 5% of it's body weight in cc for each feeding. However, I never measure it. I let them drink until their bellies are full.
