Opossums will eat anything. They should be getting about 70% cat chow, 15% fruits, 10% veggies, and 5% protein with calcium (ex. hard boiled egg with shell, meat with bone, yogurt). The diet he is getting sounds good (minus the cigarettes and lip gloss). I would not put extra calcium on his food, too much can cause issues just as easy as not enough. If he is getting into things because he is still hungry, maybe increase the amount of cat chow he gets. Sounds like he has a great life with you and is very happy . I have always heard that they live up to 3 years in the wild and 3-5 in captivity with the rare opossum living to be 7-8 in captivity.

Aw thanks for that! Im trying my best and she seems happy enough. Is growing very quickly but isnt over/under weight. All a learning curve I suppose. Great to have a bit of advice from people who have had contact with these animals.

Its been so much fun watching her grow and slowly learn that no matter how much I think Ive thought of everything she can get up to she will always surprise me lol!

Seeing her growl at the cat for even looking at her bowl is definitly the highlight of my evenings. I thought she was supposed to be shy?????

Really must get a pic up for you. Have one of her the day she was left at the house and Ill take another tonight so you can see the size difference!
