Talking A new member of the faimly

at 9:00 am on sunday june 7 we adopted a new member to the family. his name is levi. he's a pug and pitbull mix....we're calling his new breed a "pig". anyway, our dog anabell and levi get along well, mostly. we're still learning what to expect but the key is they both listen well. we'll keep all posted on the new developements...oh, and pictures will be coming soon!

thanks....just wanted to give you guys a quick update...Day one - we had a lot of play, and a lot of redirections....both dogs tried to show alpha behaviors but "mom" and "dad" (us) prevailed...Levi learned quick who's really in charge. Levi learned sit, down, come, and place all within the day (he's still not great at it, but he knows...and he got it quick thanks to Anabell being such a good girl and following all the commands). During the play Levi would nip at Bell, but we asked our trainer and he said that was normal, but Bell did not nip back to put Levi in his place. Day two - Both dogs did great! they played and Anabell nipped back and put a end to that type of play. They both laid on each other's bed, and played with each other's toys and bones. They were both on the couch with no problems and just did overall great!! Day 3 - No issues this morning, but i did notice that Anabell was a little sluggish and mopey. that could just be because of all the excitement....saturday she went to a dog friendly amusement park for 9 hours (including driving time), sunday she got a little brother and had a really long walk, etc...but could it be that she's depressed because she's not the only dog in the house anymore? what do you guys think?

This is the two of them on the couch together...it was a phone picture so it's not that good, and my wife who took it didn't want to get up to get the real camera because then they both would of too!! honestly i really thought this would never be able to happen...i'm so proud of our Anabell...she's come such a long way...i just wanted to say thank you to all that have helped us get this far, all you advice has been...and continues to be so vital. Thank you again!!

I wouldn't pay much attention to her appearing "depressed". Just give her a few more days to adjust and all will be just fine. Those 2 should do just fine .

What a cool looking pup lol, congrats. I have a pug/Chihuahua= a little more down to scale I reckon, not that there is anything wrong with a Pug/Pitbull lol

Pug and pitbull. Wow. That is an interesting mix to think about, haha. I am glad to see that Anabel is doing well with the new pup! Also, I wouldn't worry about the 'depressed' behaviour either. I see all the time with my cats if we get a new pet, but they adjust perfectly fine.
