Default sore tail

my kitten had an abscess on his tail. I took him to the vet he shaved the area cleaned it, took his temp and said he did have a slight infection and low grade fever and put him on antibiotics. He took his meds but the area still looks sore it gets pink and sometimes has droplets of blood on the area I have been cleaning it every other day with antibiotic soap Is this fine I am considering calling the vet again. He is eating and eliminating fine isnt listless but I can tell his little tail does hurt him.

I wouldn't worry too much about an abscess. All of my cats had one at one time or another and they usually know what's best if they have access to clean it themselves. So far they all have healed just fine and my cats have feline leukemia, which compromises the immune system and usually makes it harder to heal.

It takes quite some time for the things to heal, but if you feel that the infection is taking back over, by all means, call the vet again!
