Default Is Bang Just a Big Cat?

OKay, so, the dealio is that about four months ago, my boyfriend and I got Bang, a two-month-old kitten. Everything about his size and weight said he was two months old. He had a very healthy appetite (still does, hehe) and grew up fast, and a LOT.

Four months later, he is NINE pounds. And he is NOT obese at all, no fatty on him. The vet is convinced that he has to be nine months old, and that we must have been misinformed when we got him. But when we first got him, he was too small to have been 5 months old, and even my mother can attest to that because she saw him on the first night.

What do you guys think? In your experience have you ever seen a cat that is just exceptionally large for his age? (Kinda like a 7 foot tall person), or do you think we were misinformed when we got him, and he was exceptionally small?

Also, he hasn't tried to spray yet. (We're taking him to get fixed in two weeks from now)

Pictures would help .

Yeah, I had big kitties and little kitties in one litter. Right now I have a what I call a "bonsai squirrel", about 5 times smaller than the others, but just as healthy.

Maybe your kitty has maine coon in it?

I'll try to upload some pictures, but my digital camera died on me.

I was wondering about that! Maine Coons are ENORMOUS so maybe Bang has some in him. He is a short haired, though. Animals are like us I suppose, some are bigger than usual, some are smaller than usual.

Are Maine Coons always long-haired? I'm not so much into cat breeds..don't have a clue!

I think Maine coons are usually long-haired but I couldn't tell you for sure. D:
