Finally made it back after losing the password.
Update on Sheila........
We fixed her up a nice tree box like the one you showed and put her in it with some cut up tshirt fabric. Sheila stayed in the tree box for a few months and we fed and watered her. About 6 months ago I think she relocated and then we didn't see another squirell in the box until about 2 months ago. Some squirell came to the box and kicked out all of Sheila's old bedding and made a new nest.
We made a nice sized box for Sheila while she was still living with us in the house-2 feet by 2 feet by 4 feet in height-she loved it! Anyway, we still have the big house in the kitchen and saved it in case we came across any new kids! Today the kittens brought us a new baby. His name is Moses and so far he is doing very well all things considered-he's in better shape than Sheila was when we found her.
Need to get to bed. Will check in soon.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for such a wonderful and helpful forum.

Hi Nadine,

I didn't go through this whole thread but it seems your cats bring home these things often.

Any chance you can keep the cats inside?

Not trying to be rude but they are affecting wildlife.

Hey Nadine, welcome back! And a new baby! There is really no new advice, since you did such a great job with Sheila, I'm confident you'll manage this one too .

But please post here should you run into any problems, have specific questions, or just want to share the progress.

Hi Michael,
Yes, the cats do bring home lots of critters, just a few months ago they brought a tiny cottontale rabbit. Usually, it's mice, moles and an occasional squirrel.
No, it isn't possible for the six outside cats to live indoors. The cats are very helpful in keeping the poisonous snakes at bay and keeping down the rodent population. We do have a cripple cat that lives in the house.
Your concern is greatly appreciated. Good luck with your license and your schooling. An education could serve you well.

Update on Moses......
Moses passed to the other side late last night. We take comfort in knowing we did the best we could for him and that his last days were peaceful.
Many thanks to the kind, thoughtful and helpful individuals on the forum and know we appreciate the care and assistance you have offered.
