Default Doug and Doogle

I went to the shelter this morning to take pics for petfinder.com when I saw these 2 chihuahuas. Both were skin, bones and fleas. Unbelievable infestation. They could not sit for a second without itching. Ticks too. Most pitiful picture!

Somebody had thrown them over the fence at the shelter. I took them home, cleaned them up, gave them a Capstar (to get rid of the fleas), plugged the ticks off one by one and trimmed their already curled nails.

Now they are squeaky clean, don't itch anymore and are eating. Both are unneutered males and have the sweetest personality.

I'll foster them for a few days, get some fat on them and then put them up for adoption:

I felt the same way when I saw them. And they sure are coming around...so adorable, especially the white one.

Miss Doolittle is correct about these two! I spent a little time this weekend with them. They were soooo happy to be with her and enjoying food, love and a place to roam. Please someone come forward and adopt these precious little pups.

It's not really thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat urgent, hehehe. They are so no bother at all. I have them inside during the afternoons, attempting to housebreak them, which is working great by the way. I hardly notice them...I wanna keep them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are such a delight! LOOOL

They are now 3.2 and 3.4 lbs.

I finally made up my mind. After having both dogs for a week now, I decided it is better to split them up than keeping them together.

Doug (the tan Chihuahua) is physically and mentally in much better shape than Doogle and he is not letting Doogle do much at all. So I decided to put up Doug for adoption as a single dog, which increases his chances big time, and I will keep Doogle for a while longer, start a fundraiser, get him neutered and work with him.

He is very timid and I'm also concerned about his deformities. I want a vet to take a look at him and tell if there might be other problems down the road with this.

I thought he is a young dog, but when I looked at his teeth, they are all nasty and brown, which is most likely the result of bad or no nutrition at all, so it's hard to tell how old they are.

I emailed 2 vets to inquire about the costs of getting him fixed up, tested, and vaccinated, but I guess I can start the fundraiser already..put a lil ad together. Wish us luck!
