No, I feed the stray cats in my neighborhood. If there are too many, I use a live trap to catch them and take them to the shelter. From there the healthy ones are taken to big dairy farms as barn cats to catch mice. They don't want or need tame cats, they want them wild.

No sign of Akeer. In fact the whole family is looking for him.

Abt the stray cats - we've one stray cat at our backyard. We feed him everyday. I don't think I want to send him to the shelter. Here people are only interested with kittens & not adult cats esp. male. If no one adopts them, the shelter will put them to sleep. So it's better that the cat stays at our backyard. My sister said that I shd be giving more attention to Akeer's needs & providing him a safe place to sleep. She's rite abt that.

My main motivation is to keep the feral cat population down. By just feeding stray cats, I'm not helping that much. One or 2 cats is ok, but if they are females and end up pregnant, it can be an entire explosion of cats and they can spread disease and cause all kinds of problems.

It's a fine line...

Yup, that's very true indeed. How I wish most people here share the same thought. It's not easy to educate people. If you tell them to spay or neuter their cats, they'll tell that it's not worthy bcoz the cost is expensive.

I saw some stray cats along the roadsides while searching for Akeer last few nites. And today I searched again but no sign of Akeer. You know deep in my heart, I feel sad when I see the stray cats looking for foods at the trash bins. I wish people are more educated on animals rather than dumping their cats due to some reasons. One good reason - they don't like male cats peeing their sofas, curtains etc. Another good reason could be they hate their female cats ending pregnant a few times in a year. I guess they don't love their cats at all. That's why they leave them in the street or elsewhere. If they care enuff, they'd spay/neuter them & provide a safe place for them to stay.

For Akeer's case - I bought him a new big cage for him to sleep at nite even though he hasn't shown up yet. Until today I feel sad when I think of Akeer.
